Three Ways to Wear : Velvet Booties

I think we have all noticed that velvet is having a major moment this fall. If you’re feeling excited about this luxe fabric and don’t know how to wear it, not to worry. You can easily start incorporating this trend and take your look to the next level with velvet booties.

This luxurious trend, does not have to be a dressy look from head-to-toe. Instead mix casual elements like denim, cropped pants and slip dresses to be on point this season.

For some runway-to-every day style inspiration take a peak at three ways to wear these versatile new fall must haves.

This first look is easy to put together. Pair your favorite flowy dress with a pair of velvet booties instead of your worn-out, go-to flats and you have effortlessly transformed this into a more stylish look. Don’t be afraid to mix fabrics and prints. It’s the details that make your outfit interesting. Add a large brim hat for daytime or throw on a cool denim jacket and you are ready for a night out!

It’s all about the balance! Have a little fun with your look and add an asymmetrical top. But because there is so much volume added by the ruffle sleeve and wrap effect of the blouse, make sure to balance out the bottom half of your outfit to make a more proportionate silhouette. Tucking in a skinny denim to your ankle boot can create a slimming and elongating effect…and who doesn’t want that.

Still feel like you can’t pull them off…add a structured top for a more classic feel. Pair this look with black leggings or a cropped trouser and you can strut into the office in these cool velvet boots. I chose to offset the traditional white button up and coat with distressed denim to create a more casual look. This suede jacket and the velvet bootie combo is getting me into that fall mood.
